the Greatest Grand Final Comeback in History

Waratah Mayfield Cheetahs pulled off the mother of all comebacks in the Newcastle & Hunter Community Rugby League A Grade Grand Final to win 33-28.

Down 28 nil, late in the first half, the Cheetahs dream of holding the premiership cup looked gone. In the second half, the Cheetahs clawed their way back to lock it up at 28 all with less than 5 minutes on the clock. A Travis Edwards field goal then put Waratah-Mayfield in front 29-28. Now in front, Waratah were not done with yet, and finished off in style with a try to not only win the A Grade Premiership, but create history with the greatest comeback in a Rugby League Grand Final.

Man of the Match - Jerome Wilson, Waratah-Mayfield Cheetahs.
